On Sunday, October 4, 2026, Colin’s Wings Foundation will host Kars & Koffee, our first
fundraising event, at Circle K, 70 Airport Road in West Dundee. Beginning at 9 AM and continuing
until 2 PM or later. This community event will bring together car enthusiasts, families, friends, and
supporters for a day of cars, conversation, and a shared commitment to young-driver awareness
and overall driver safety.
But this event is about much more than cars. It is about remembering a son, honoring a life, and
helping prevent another family from experiencing the heartbreak of losing a child.
On July 25, 2026, Colin Newnam was tragically killed in a car accident at just 17 years old.
Colin was a passenger in the vehicle, with his entire future still ahead of him. Just three days after
this event, on October 7, Colin would have celebrated his 18th birthday.
His father, Mike Newnam, a U.S. Army veteran, founded Colin’s Wings Foundation to transform
unimaginable grief into something that can make a difference. Colin’s Wings Foundation is a
501(c)(3) nonprofit being established in Colin’s memory with a mission to share Colin’s story,
educate young drivers, encourage safer decisions, and promote responsible driving habits that can
help save lives.
We Need Your Help to Get This Mission Off the Ground
Our first fundraising event is an important beginning, but we cannot do this alone. We are asking
local businesses, organizations, families, and individuals to become part of Colin’s Wings
Foundation through a financial donation, event sponsorship, or in-kind contribution.

We cannot change what happened to Colin. But together, we can change what happens next.
